About you:
You are a dynamic, community-driven leader to make our White Rock Johnston Street location the go-to destination for exceptional hospitality, food, and beverage experiences - a place where people can get a great meal and margarita! In this role, you’ll be responsible for sales growth and brand awareness by building strong local partnerships, engaging with the community and creating meaningful guest connections. You recognize that outstanding experiences start with a strong team and you lead by example, foster a positive workplace culture, and invest your time in the growth and development of your team.
You’ll also apply strategic problem-solving to improve efficiency and operations, working with your leadership team to implement, measure, and refine processes that enhance service and profitability.
You will have access to support from an engaged head office team that ensures decisions are made in alignment with the brand and provides guidance as needed, without micromanaging, while valuing your input and ideas.

Compensation:
- Base salary of $60,000 per year, plus a guaranteed minimum bonus of $20,000, with the potential for additional performance-based bonuses through a competitive profit share incentive structure.

You will be responsible for:
- Guest Experience & Community Engagement
- Making this restaurant your own and being an ambassador in your community. We support the communities that support us.
- Planning strategic initiatives to support sales building, including partnerships with the local community and collaborating on local events
- Building great relationships with guests to foster loyalty and repeat business
- Maintaining a high-level of service that is aligned with our brand standards
- Work with the team and head office to develop outreach programs that give back to the community
- Identifying opportunities for promotions and local marketing opportunities to increase brand awareness
People Leadership
Fostering and maintaining a positive workplace culture that encourages growth and great guest experiences
Leading by example, jumping in to support service when needed - whether on the floor or in the kitchen
Hire, train, and develop a strong team, working closely with HR on recruitment and retention
Creating sales building campaigns, including friendly competitions and employee rewards
Ensuring performance reviews, development opportunities, promotion and compensation decisions are fair, equal, and in line with the standard of the company guidelines
Providing orientations, ongoing training and development and coaching opportunities, and performance reviews to support individual and team development
Food & Beverage
Ensuring that quality remains a priority and is upheld to Tacofino’s standards
Oversee ordering, inventory management, and equipment maintenance
Maintaining consistency and quality across food and beverage offerings
Ensuring your team complies with food safety and health regulations
Operations & Financial Performance
Overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the restaurant
Managing operational expenses, including maintenance and supply costs
Identifying opportunities for process improvement and working with your leadership team to maximize efficiency and guest experience
Monitoring and maintaining food and labour targets to meet goals, including sales and community initiatives
Creating schedule templates, forecasted labour, and sales tracking
Performing and submitting bi-weekly inventories, organizing invoices, and supporting payroll
Other duties as required
To be qualified for this role, you will have:
- 4 years experience in restaurant leadership, hospitality leadership, or restaurant development, ideally in a fast-paced, high-volume setting
- Culinary experience considered an asset - you will be expected to learn and be involved in the kitchen operations
- Proven ability to support sales growth through local initiatives, promotions, and community partnerships
- Experience leading guest experiences initiatives that increase customer loyalty, satisfaction, and return visits
- A collaborative leadership style that builds strong front of house and back of house teamwork and culture
- A demonstrated passion for soulful food, people, and the restaurant industry
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends according to the needs of the business
